The mystery house

Once I was told a horror story I would like to tell you. There was a group of friends who were in a forest, when they heard a strange noise that came from an abandoned house. It was late, but they wanted to know what happened.

At half past twelve they entered the house. It was all right but when they took a few steps, the door closed very loudly and they couldn’t open it any more. They were scared and confused. The group of friends saw a book on the floor and a body of a child on the wall. One of the girls in the group took the book and disappeared just in one second. Just when they saw what had happened, they wanted to shout loud but they were paralised.

When the friends started talking about that horrible event, the body of the teleported girl appeared in front of them. One of them broke a window, and all the friends went out through the window and left the body there.

A week later the friends wanted to know what had happened to their friend’s body. They entered the house again. They went straight to the living room, because the body was supposed to be there. To their surprise, they didn’t find the body, but a note instead that stated: “if you want to live you need to find the mystery book and say the words that are inside, but be careful with the traps that are in the house.”

They were scared, and they turned round at the same moment and they started to run to the door. Things are not so easy, I am afraid. When one of them opened the door, it was like an infinite loop. When they realized that they couldn’t escape, the group of friends started to look for the book with caution. Three hours later, when they found the book, they said the magic words and they appeared outside, in front of the house. It was amazing, they were like ten years old, they had traveled to the future. When they were running in order not to see the house any longer, a murderer with a large knife killed them and put their bodies in the wall too. Needless to say, next to the body of the child wath there.

Another group of friends who were near the house heard weird noises and wanted to know what was happening.

The story repeats itself!

A night in the subway station

One Sunday night I was at the subway in Barcelona. I was there because I had gone to watch a scary movie at the cinema, which had been so good. It was very scary but I liked it. I was alone at the subway station. Nobody was around there, the train didn’t arrive so I decided to watch videos on my mobile phone. I didn’t walk back home because I was so far away.

About half an hour later, suddenly a creepy old man arrived at the station. He was dressed in thick layers of clothing and he was coming near me.

He sat on the bench next to me and then asked: “When is the next train coming?” I stopped watching the video and said: “I don’t know, I’ve been waiting for a while”. He didn’t answer me. Then he started to make strange things with his hands and his feet. I was a little frightened. A few minutes later I heard something crawling. It was him, he was coming near me, when he was so near I stood up and he was also standing. He wanted to throw himself at me, but I was in time to run away.

I was far from the station and I didn’t see him following me.

Because of that, I decided not to go to another station but to take a taxi home. I saw one and I stopped it. I went in the car and I gave the driver the instructions.

While I was in the taxi I kept watching videos, and after a while I looked out of the window and saw that we were on a dead end street and I asked “Where are we?” the driver didn’t answer. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw that he was the same man I had met at the subway station.

I tried to get out of the car but the doors were locked. At the time I didn’t know what could happen.

To be continued...

A scary doll comes to my life

When my mother and I were going to buy some things related to Halloween, we found a doll sitting on the bench. We thought that someone might have left it by mistake and would take it when he or she remembered about it. We went on our walk, but when we were returning home, we found the same doll on the same bench. She was very cute with big blue eyes, and very charming. I really wanted to take her with me, but my mother didn’t let me do so. Eventually she agreed, and we took that beautiful doll with us.

We put the carved pumpkins at the house entrance and hung some fake bats and witches on the door. Actually, we were holding a Halloween party that night, everyone was enjoying, dancing and singing. I showed that doll to everyone, and one of my friends named her “Daisy”. I was very keen on that name, and it also suited the doll’s features. That night we played a lot of games, then everyone went to their houses. My family was very tired and everyone went to their rooms to sleep.

I went to sleep after half an hour. Suddenly I could hear some voices. I woke up and saw Daisy running and causing incidents in the house. When I was walking towards her, she attacked me and I went to my parent’s room, but nobody was there. The doll was following me. I was very scared. I went upstairs and closed the door, but she broke it. When she was coming towards me, I stabbed the knife in her stomach and threw her far away from my house. When I went down to my parent’s room, they were still sleeping. I was very shocked, and my whole body was shaking. For a few days I couldn’t sleep well and I couldn’t forget that incident, but luckily, in the end, this event slipped from my mind.

After one year...

Again Halloween came and someone rang our bell, when I opened the door, I found the same doll “Daisy”...

Human hideout

Hello, my name is Karen. Surely, you have found this letter inside a book on the shelf you have on the left. I don't know who you are or why you got this letter but I'm going to tell you my story.

I lived with my family, with my mother and my father. I was an only child. My father has always had a very strong addiction to alcohol, he would come home at three in the morning, completely drunk. He was almost never at home, he didn't work and he spent all my mother's salary at the bar. My mother tried to make him see the reasons to stop drinking but it didn't work. Instead, he started hitting her and hurting her physically. One day, in a moment of anger, he took a knife and stabbed my mother in front of me. The next person to be killed would be me, so I ran through the house to my room. I locked the door and started to write this letter so that someone would find it and the truth would be revealed. My father started to force the lock and he succeeded in getting in.

Thus, these are going to be my last words. I don't know how many years will be going on, maybe forty or maybe two, or maybe it will be a few months before someone finds this letter and knows this horrible story. When I finish this letter, I will hide it somewhere in this room, maybe I will be found or maybe not, I have thought of many places to hide.

Some time ago, I discovered that my armchair was hollow inside, that is, it had a cavity. I thought about that and started to dismantle the back to hide myself inside. That armchair is the one you are using right now, where you are sitting, maybe my lifeless body lies inside it, you would be sitting on top of me and I would be hugging you. So, why don't you look inside the armchair and find it out?

The shadow

It was my first day at high school, I was very nervous because I was new in town. My parents had found a good work in this city, called Tortosa, so we moved there to start our new life. My first day at school was the worst. People looked at me strangely, moving away from my side. I was alone. The class was made up of pupils who had chosen scientific studies at the beginning of the school year and they were in groups of friends: The popular, the jockers, the nerds, etc., but I was not in any group because I had no friends. A week later, the «popular group» started picking on me for my appearance, insulting and hitting me. I was harassed for a month until I met a friend who was wearing black clothes and had long black hair. We became close friends. He even helped me with my homework. He told me what to do to deal with the bullies at school.

The problem was that everyone was telling me I was talking alone, even when my friend was right in front of them. One day, I asked my friend if he were real and he replied very annoyed: Yes, I am real!!!

He said he was very happy that he had finally made a true friend. That night, he came home to sleep together (he looked like a shadow ), he made me promise not to tell anyone that he was my friend, either my parents or my teachers would like to separate us and we would never see each other again.
One day, when we went home, my friend got very angry with me because I told a classmate that I was his friend. He looked very angry, he grabbed me out of my hair, dragged me all over the house to the kitchen, took a knife and killed me.

This would be an example of a guy who lived being bullied, went completely crazy, his supposed friend was only a shadow invented by his own mind. That shadow represented bullying, a shadow that made the lonely boy finally commit suicide.

An unexpected letter

It was a day like any other day in Havana. My best friend and I friend were watching “Netflix” in my house. It was night, and my parents were not there.

While we were watching the series, someone rang the bell. We opened the door but there was no one there. After half an hour, they called again. Despite being dead of fear, we opened it.We looked at the floor and there was a box that looked like a package. We grabbed it and moved to the middle of my room and then, we opened it. Inside, there was… a letter.

My best friend and I were trembling with fear when the windows opened and the cool wind went through the room. I quickly went to close them. My friend opened the letter, which said: “We are watching you”. When he finished reading it, the doorbell rang and…a whisper touched my ear and said:” the world is full of traps”.

Now, one year later I think of this sentence.

The takeover

One day, in an old town called Spooksville, a strange loud noise was coming over the mountain. The ground quaked and the people that lived in the town were shaking with fear. A few days passed and the quaking stopped but a boy named Tom thought otherwise. Tom was the son of the local baker Mr. Manchester. Tom was an ordinary 7 year old but he had an extremely wild imagination. He thought that this was just a little warning and that there was going to be an attack. So, he went to the library and told his grandma (Tom's grandma was the librarian, also known locally as “the crazy lady”).

His grandma gave Tom an old dusty book titled “legends of spooksville”. She flicked through to a page that read “spooks gloop”. Such story spoke of an old scientist’s lab on top of the mountain. The scientist was researching about a toxic acid. But one day, when the scientist was doing a test on the acid, whole a giant gloop moster rose from the acid and ate the old man completely. The legend says that the scientist will rise from the death on October 31st 2019 ,at 3:15 to get his revenge. Tom looked at the big grandfather clock and it was 2:58.

So,Tom hurried to the top of the mountain and he saw an army of big, green, slimy monsters headig towards Spooksville. Then, Tom ran to tell his uncle, who was the the head of the police, what was going on but his uncle didn’t believe him. As a consequence, Spooksville was doomed but they didn’t even know it yet.

A Red Pomegranate

One day, a new special girl came at school. She was called Alison. She had been adopted by a family. Now, she had two siblings. Her new family was pretty and happy with her, but she hid some secrets.

Every night, while her parents were sleeping, Alison ate a red mature pomegranate and then she went out to the city. Some days later, the local government realised that some people had disappeared.

After some investigations, the police discovered that one monster had killed that people. One night, Alison’s parents saw that she jumped through the window. They went after her. What they watched, terrified them!

She killed a man with her eyes. Pomegranates gave her eyes strong powers to kill people. Then, her parents called the police.

They decided to gather strong people to kill the monster. But they needed to wear a mask to protect their eyes.

At the end , they won and could kill the monster.

Actually, Alison wasn’t a girl. She was a horrible monster. After that horrible events, nobody in the city has ever eaten a pomegranate again.

The doll

Do you believe in ghosts or in enchanted houses? I thought that most times they are stories to scare children. But one day, something very strange happened to me.

Many years ago, I went to live to an old house near the mountains.

One day, I decided to visit the house because I was bored. It was very big and I entered a room full of toys.

Then, I heard a noise behind me. I turned round but there was nothing. This scared me and I ran outside the house. When I looked around the house, I saw a hand in the window of the nursery, the strange toy room.

Next day, I decided to return there. I opened the door and I saw a doll, which had big blue eyes and a small red mouth. I got scared and started running, but the door was closed. When I turned round, the doll said to me: “Nobody wants to play with me”.

I explained it to my parents. We decided to return to our house in the city immediately.
Now, sometimes I dream about this house and the doll looking and smiling at me.

The ghost

At 25 years old and after earning his first salary, Marc dared to live alone. The apartment was not very big but it wasn’t small at all, it was enough for one person and quite affordable, too. One night, the noise of several knocks and screams made him wake up thinking he could be in danger. Since he had moved to that place, he was the only one living on that floor so, he was surprised about what was happening.

Just at midnight, someone knocked on the door of his apartment and then he saw her. In front of him, there was a very pale woman. She looked tired and also had a big blow in her right eye that had turned into a rather ugly bruise. The woman asked if she could stay with him until the next morning, when her family could pick her up.

He didn't deny her stay, she entered and he prepared the sofa so she could rest comfortably. Since it was the only thing he could offer, she didn't complain. She just thanked him for that little gesture and went to sleep.

The next day, when Marc was going to make breakfast for both of them, he noticed that the blanket he had given to the lady was gently folded and the woman had left. He didn't worry about it, perhaps the family had picked her up very early in the morning and now she would be reporting her husband to the police. However, she reappeared in his doorstep at night, exactly at 12 o’clock, even more beaten than the day before.

This situation was repeated during a few days and the boy was very worried, the woman didn't say anything about her husband. She only refused to speak about it and was just resting on his sofa. Last night, the desperate screams of the woman and the critical state in which she arrived made him think that very soon the husband was going to kill her, so she went down to the nearest police station.

Great was his surprise when the police and neighbours told him that what he was reporting was impossible, this woman could not be staying in his room. She had being murdered more than a year ago, at the hands of her husband, who had beaten her up.

Horror Story

It was late; around midnight. I was finally able to start reading the book my friend had been recommending me for months. There was a strange noise outside. I wasn’t sure what it was, so I put my book down in my nightstand. I got up and walked to the only window in my room, which was at the right side of the bed. In spite of the darkness surrounding the house, you could slightly see the shapes of the trees scattered around the backyard, but nothing else apart from that. I wasn’t able to recognise what that sound was. I made up my mind and went to my brother’s room downstairs. When I opened the door to his room, the lights were already on and he was looking out of his window, from where you could also see the backyard. He turned around when he realised I was there and made a surprised gasp before realising it was me. He immediately mentioned the odd noise coming from outside. Both of us were in deep thought about what it could have been. Then, my gaze went to the window when I saw a shadow moving instantaneously from one side to the other. After that, we decided we should go to try to find what it was.

We went outside and after taking a few steps forward there was a sound behind us. We turned around and the door we had just crossed had closed on its own. We wanted to convince ourselves that it was nothing. We repeated: it must have been the air, ignoring our minds reminding us that there was a clear lack of wind. Luckily, I had grabbed the keys together with two torches on our way to the door. We were walking side by side, almost hugging each other because, let’s be honest; no one actually separates if you find yourself in a scary situation, and horror movie directors should know it. At first, we didn’t see anything weird but, when we approached our dog’s little house, we saw a red substance dripping from the roof. When we realised there was a trace in the grass of the same substance, our minds started to race with the worst case scenarios. We were scared but we followed it until we found something we would have never wanted to see. Our usually lovely and bubbly German Shepherd was lying lifeless on the grass, covered in mud and blood. We got in a shock. We didn’t know what to do since we were scared but, when I saw something shifting in the bushes close by, I quickly took my brother’s hand and ran to the inner part of our house. We called our parents with tears in our eyes. A few hours later, we were told our beloved pet had been taken away by a wolf that used to spend long hours in the hill nearby, and visited the village once and then. We had never been so heartbroken.

The Enchanted Castle

Once upon a time...There was a castle in the middle of the forest. A pair of children went to play to the forest, when they suddenly saw a snake on a tree trunk. They walked through the giant leaves, until they arrived and observed a giant building standing right in front of them. They walked towards the door, and it opened silently. A giant spider was walking on the walls. Scared of whatever they could find on their way, one of them fell in a tiny hole on the ground. The rest, followed a little mouse to a labyrinth. When they found their way out, they heard the sound of a bone behind a wooden door. Exactly in that moment the door opened and a enormous wild tiger roared like a beast dying of hunger. His green sharp eyes caught the sight of the children. He was ready to attack them without returning back. The oldest child went in front of the tiger ready to stop him. The tiger took one step back, and he ran away without returning. They continued their way until they saw some stairs leading to the attic. Meanwhile a golden light caught their attention, walking down the stairs they found a hidden chest. Without thinking they opened the chest... And they they couldn’t believe that they found the hidden treasure of enchanted castle!

Happily they returned home without leaving a single piece of gold and jewels in the castle. And finally they lived happily ever after!
