Every day, Jane, daughter of an old man and eldest sister of five siblings, used to go to the forest to pick up firewood and to prepare food for her family. In that forest lived a monster that went to the village at night to kidnap children and to mistreat them. The father had asked her daughter to come back every day before sunset, and when she got home she had to say her name three times and shake her bracelets.
One day, Jane went to the forest as usual to pick firewood and take food home. When she was coming back, Jane realized that she had lost her bracelets, so she tried to find them and she forgot that she had to be back before sunset. When she realized that it was late, she rushed home crying because it was night.
When she arrived, she said her name three times, and his father came to the door. Jane told him what had happened and that she couldn’t shake her bracelets, then she asked him to open the door. The father refused and he told her that it could be the monster imitating her voice; also he told her that he couldn’t risk because her brothers and sisters were sleeping. In the end, Jane became frightened and sad all night, until the monster kidnapped her.
Since that day, when the father is sleeping he always has nightmares, he hears the sound of his daughter's bracelets. Also, the image of his daughter crying comes back again and again… and he regrets not having helped her.
